Dendriet is a network of musicians in The Hague (.nl) that perform with networked electronic and acoustic instruments. The word dendriet, or dendrite, is also the name for the receptors of a nervecell. Dendrites are typically branching branches. You'll find these fractal shapes in ice, in metal chrystals in limestone, and likewise, in our performance setups. Please do check out our homepage by clicking the stone. Petition for rehearsal/recording space in The Hague
My housemate Irma Kort, hoboist, has started a petition to apply for a workspace in The Hague. Although The Hague has a conservatory and a lively scene, there's no space to do rehearsals and recordings in. That is: There are places you can rent by the hour, but not for a week or two for the bigger projects. This is of coarse of Dendriet's interest as well, so I signed. We'll get the letter to the Gemeente and the petition under your nose soon. I hereby invite Irma to post here comments here.

Sonology & Steim: With Juan Parra and others.
Op 25 september organiseert STEIM in samenwerking met de afdeling Sonologie van het Koningklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag een avond waarin het werk van studenten wordt gepresenteerd.
On September 25th STEIM organises in collaboration with the Istitute of Sonology of the Royal Conservatory of the Hague a presentation of works made by students.

Log taal / Log language + some other proposals....
Het leek mij best handig om het log in een 'officiele' taal te voeren. Engels ligt het meest voor de hand gezien het gebruik hiervan op de webzijde.
I was thinking of using one 'official' language in this log. English seems the most logic choice since this is the language used on the website.
Also me and Dave thought of producing some flyers and/or stickers for www.dendriet.nl so we can spread the word!
I also thought it might be interesting to have some discussions on this log about subject as:
What is the artist's role today?
What do you expect from an art institution in the 21st century?
Or of course some other perhaps more immediatly relevant questions....
And who is interested in creating an full evening program for Krachtstroom @ kikker?. It is not arranged or anything but according to jorrit t. it wouldn't be much of a problem getting it set up.

Leon en Dave in 20 sept Theater Kikker, Utrecht
Zaterdag avond a.s. treden Leon en Dave op in Theater Kikker, Utrecht, bij de oude gracht in de buurt. Het festival heet Utrecht Boft. We spelen tussen alle gitaar-emo bandjes in, met een speelse set. Zie de kikker-site.

In our meeting we decided on the following:
- we'll upgrade to an "advanced" website at xs4all, so we'll have more space and may run our own scripts.
- this weblog will be upgraded, most probably to greymatter.
- not only dave pays for the webspace, but Ernst, Juan and Leon will too.
Leon is now in Austria for the Ars Electronica Festival, and he'll be spreading our demo's.
(Arse, leon!) This was a the reason to for me to update the website. Take a look at the URLs too.
