Dendriet is a network of musicians in The Hague (.nl) that perform with networked electronic and acoustic instruments. The word dendriet, or dendrite, is also the name for the receptors of a nervecell. Dendrites are typically branching branches. Resonant Neuron Synthesis 

Jürgen Michaelis has written a nice article about neural sound synthesis, and has also made a hybrid (part analog, part digital) neural sound synthesis device (unfortunately no sound example). It may be a nice method for cool dsp complexity!
